Amine Bouhafa

We are thrilled to announce that the director Kaouther Ben Hania and the composer Amine Bouhafa will attend the 2023 edition of the MCM Festival as part of the "Duets" programme. The two artists first collaborated on the film Beauty and the Dogs, selected in Un Certain Regard In Cannes in 2017. Four years later, the duo teamed up again The Man Who Sold His Skin, nominated for the Oscar for Best International Film in 2021 and screened this year during the Festival.

Amine Bouhafa graduated from the National Conservatory of Music of Tunis at the age of 12, fond of Music Music and Cinema, he began composing for the screen. A few years later, he moved to France where, in parallel to his engineering studies, he also studied Harmony and Counterpoint at the Paris Conservatory.

Embracing both of his cultures, he develops a very personal style. The quality of his writing, combined with the originality and the relevance  of his cinematographic approach, led him to compose the music for Timbuktu. The film was awarded 7 Césars, including the one for Best Original Score. The same year, he was selected for the Grand Prix France Musique - Sacem 2015. Since then, Amine Bouhafa works on many projects and wins multiple awards. He composed the scores of Beauty and the Dogs by Kaouther Ben Hania, Amin by Philippe Faucon, Gagarine by Fanny Liatard & Jérémy Trouilh, You’ll Die at Twenty by Amjad Abu Alala, The Summit Of the Gods by Patrick Imbert...
