Médiation all year around
Intimately convinced that image education can have a real impact in the short and long term, on the awakening of consciences, the stimulation of desires, and the social bond, Alcimé leads a substantive work throughout the year (with an activity that densifies during the week of the Festival), with schools in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and several structures that meet the most isolated. For this, we set up actions to defend art as a mean of expression. For each audience and each action, we are committed to offering programs that convey a remarkable artistic and creative richness, a human and civic message, allowing pedagogical work.

Artistic and cultural mediation projects for primary, secondary and high schools:
Alcimé offers all schools (kindergarten - primary - middle school - high school) tailor-made projects adapted to all ages and all profiles (Segpa - Ulis...) according to the demands of teachers . These workshops, the frequency of which may vary, can be offered outside school time (cine-clubs) or included in the pedagogical projects of the classes in consultation with the teachers. Note that we collaborate with the Academic Delegation for Artistic Education and Cultural Action, Aix-Marseille to co-create educational projects around music and cinema. These projects are intended for all schools in the territory, and offer to teachers and their students different paths and mediation workshops throughout the year, in which the MCM Festival is one of the steps.
A few examples of projects:
The project « «On the track of a soundtrack» » offers classes from primary schools and children’s activity centers in the City of Marseille, through meetings and practical workshops, to discover the profession of composer and create an original film music.

The multimedia class of the Jacques Prévert secondary school (13e): the collaboration with the Collège Prévert began in 2022 with the creation and animation of a cine-club and the animation of workshops about cinema during the “opened school” (activities offered to pupils during school holidays). This led us, in collaboration with the management team and teachers, to make year-round interventions in the multimedia class.
Projects for social inclusion:
Since 2019, Alcimé is a co-founder of Grandir, a social innovation project led by La Varappe Group, which aims at the inclusion over 3 years, of 700 people who are far from employment, by deeply renewing the traditional practices of accompaniment and recruitment. Supported by the Ministry of Labour, the Grandir project is supported by 15 companies, including our structure. To do so, Alcimé organizes 3 workshops/training per year. These actions offer to this public the opportunity to actively participate in different workshops (screenwriting, artistic programming etc.). During the Festival, they join the Alcimé team and then create their own festival (3 events over 3 evenings), thus becoming film programmers and event organizers. Since 2021, 30 people far from employment have participated in 3 sessions of 15 days of training on the professions of cinema. During those wokshops, they became jury or programmers and constituted programs of short and feature films broadcasted during the Festival and throughout the year.
« Les Bons Bails » (The good tips) is a project led by Evolio, (La Varappe Group’s social innovation incubator), which brings together a consortium of 18 partners including Alcimé.
This scheme is a complete support program (health, mobility, housing and socio-professional integration) for young people aged 16 to 25, mostly in precarious situations and distant from the public employment service, from the territories of Marseille, Aubagne Pays de l'Etoile and its surroundings. In this context, Alcimé offers participants discovery paths about cinema (consisting of complementary stages of knowledge and artistic practices) intended for the remobilization of forgotten or neglected soft skills: group work, listening, observation, speaking in public etc... These workshops allow the participants to «get moving», an essential starting point for a return to an active role in personal and professional life.
We also intervene within the framework of «Ensemble en Provence» (Together in Provence) scheme, which contributes to the meeting between cultural actors and their audiences, we intervene in the form of screenings and debates with adults in social difficulties, disabled people and adolescents in social and professional reintegration.

Collaborations with other cultural structures:
Alcimé is also partners of several cultural structures such as Le MuCEM, cinema le Gyptis and cinema la Baleine with whom we regularly organize events, the Marseille National Ballet or the Théâtre National de Marseille La Criée. Since 2016, Alcimé has collaborated with La Criée theater as part of the Festival La Criée Tout Court. We used to propose 2 programs of short films for young audiences, accompanied by mediation at the end of the screenings. For the 2024 edition in March, Alcimé will present, in partnership with the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory of Marseille, a cine-concert during which, students of the composition for image class of the Conservatory, under the direction of Pierre-Adrien Charpy, revisit the original music of short films from the Folimage studios.
