Erwann Kermorvant

Conductor of the 2025 Master Class

Composer Erwann Kermorvant will lead a music composition residency for film, organized with the support of Sacem, from March 19 to 29, 2025. Eight young composers will benefit from ten days of intensive training to create original scores for various short films, which they will perform live during the closing evening.

Erwann Kermorvant is an eclectic composer who enjoys moving freely between genres and disciplines, working on everything from short and feature films to television series. As a favored composer of Olivier Marchal, he is naturally associated with the crime genre, but is equally at ease writing for comedies, action films, and dramas. He effortlessly combines symphonic orchestration with music programming.

His musical training began at the age of 7 at the Conservatory of Lorient, where he discovered the clarinet. Later, he traveled to the United States, where he studied film music under Ralph Grierson, a renowned studio keyboardist in Hollywood. Continuing his pursuit of this path, Erwann attended the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles before specializing in film music at UCLA.
