SIRAR
Grant for the Creation of a First Film Score and Its Recording

CALL FOR COMPOSERS

🇫🇷 Only open to French-speaking candidates

Applications are accepted from Tuesday, October 15, to Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM.

This grant is aimed at composers who have not signed the original music for any film produced by a production company. The grant for musical creation is awarded based on a call for applications for composers.

A panel of three members, under the responsibility of MÉRIDIENS in partnership with the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet in Marseille, will preselect 3 composers from the applications received. These 3 composers are invited to the International Music & Cinema Festival in Marseille (from March 24 to 29, 2025) to meet the winning screenwriter of the production assistance grant. Following this meeting, they must submit their musical proposals for the film. It is then up to the author-director to choose the composer who will sign the film's music. This film will be made under the conditions mentioned on the Sirar Author page, and the winning composer is required to fully accept these conditions. The screenwriter commits to informing their choice by May 31, 2025, at the latest, to the 3 preselected composers.
