After studying literature and history, Agnès Patron enrolled at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, specializing in animation. Her graduation film, La Veuve Caillou, premiered at both the Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand festivals. She then co-directed Chulyen, histoire de Corbeau with Cerise Lopez, a short film that garnered numerous awards in France and internationally.
Patron followed this success with L’Heure de l’ours, which was selected for competition at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival and screened at over a hundred festivals worldwide. The film won the 2021 César Award for Best Animated Short Film. In 2022, she co-directed the music video Météores with Morgane Le Péchon, set to a track by Pierre Oberkampf, which won several awards. She has since completed her latest animated short film using painted animation.
In addition to her own projects, Agnès Patron collaborates on various works in animation, live-action cinema, performing arts, and illustration. Most recently, she created the animated sequences for Koya Kamura’s feature film Hiver à Sokcho, which was released in theaters in January 2025.
