Franco-Finnish artist Olivia Merilahti first came to public attention in 2008 with her band The Dø. The duo made their mark on the music scene with three acclaimed studio albums, a Victoire de la Musique award and international tours that established their reputation. The Dø are among the inspirations claimed by Billie Eilish today.
During these years of collaboration, Olivia has co-written the soundtracks for French feature films, and the band’s songs have found their way into international works, such as Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer.
Olivia reinvents herself under the name Prudence, and releases her first solo album in 2021, unveiling a hybrid sound and futuristic visuals.
Her film credits include Sparring (Samuel Jouy) and Corsage (Marie Kreutzer), as well as the OCS series Aspergirl. Olivia lends her voice to projects such as Kavinsky, Isaac Delusion and Etienne de Crécy, and co-composes and produces tracks for albums by Louane, Yoa and Maëlle.
Always in search of renewal, she pursues her career as an independent artist under her own name, composing and producing contemporary pop from her studio on the Basque coast, open to the world and infused with cinematic arrangements.
