Raphaël Balboni is a fiction writer-director, known for his hybrid and unconventional filmmaking, which he develops in tandem with Ann Sirot. Together, they create works characterized by spontaneous acting, a fast-paced rhythm with jump cuts, and an organic narrative born from many filmed experiments.
Their first feature film, Une Vie Démente, won seven Magritte Awards and was honored at various festivals. Their second film, Le Syndrome des Amours Passées, continues this original approach. In parallel, Balboni has directed several acclaimed short films, including Des Choses en commun, Avec Thelma, and Lucha Libre.
He is currently working on his third feature, Un Détour par Diane, with filming scheduled for 2025. This project, initiated in the framework of the La Fémis screenplay workshop, is produced by Les Films du Fleuve and Marianne Prod.
