What are the legal challenges related to copyright and intellectual property in a context where AI becomes a co-creator? To raise awareness on this issue from various perspectives, we will start with a scripted case: a composer has delivered their film score, with the theme song becoming a worldwide hit. Soon after, it is revealed that this chart-topping song was generated by AI. Ironically, it is thanks to AI technology that the deception was uncovered. What will be the stance of the various stakeholders (composer, publisher, copyright manager, and experts), and what decision will be made... by the public? A partner of the MCM for the fourth consecutive year, Jean-Pierre Arquié (JPAgency), composer agent and film music producer, presents a new conference aimed at better understanding the interactions between composers and those involved in the unique journey of a film. This discussion will explore the rich, complex, and deeply human as well as artistic relationships that fuel every cinematic creation. This anniversary edition, celebrating 20 years of the music-for-image program at the CNSMD of Lyon, brings together orchestrator Jehan Stefan, sound engineer Jonathan Allen, and composer Valentin Hadjadj, focusing in particular on their collaboration on the films of Lukas Dhont. The conference will be moderated by Alexandre Mahout from Sacem.
