Alexeï Aïgui

presents Ernest Cole: Lost and Found

Artplexe · Wednesday, March 26th · 3 pm

This isn’t Alexeï Aïgui’s first visit to Marseille. After taking part in the European Market for Film Music Composition, the composer returns to MCM to accompany Ernest Cole: Lost and Found, the latest documentary by Raoul Peck, with whom he regularly collaborates (I Am Not Your Negro). Presented at Cannes, the film traces the story of Ernest Cole, the first South African photographer to document the devastation of apartheid with House of Bondage (1967). Forced into exile after its publication, he gradually faded into obscurity, but Raoul Peck revives his legacy by recounting his journey. A vital documentary that brings to light the work of a visionary artist.

Laetitia Pansanel-Garric

presents Hola Frida

Artplexe · Wednesday, March 26th · 5 pm

MCM holds no secrets for Laetitia Pansanel-Garic. After participating in the Film Music Composition Masterclass led by Stephan Oliva in 2008, she later attended the European Market for Film Music Composition. Having composed the score for The Serpent of Pamfir, she now brings her talent to Hola Frida, an animated feature directed by André Kadi and Karine Vézina. With its vibrant storytelling, the film explores Frida Kahlo’s childhood in a Mexico teeming with color and emotion.

Clovis Schneider

presents Dans la cuisine des Nguyen

Artplexe · Wednesday, March 26th · 9 pm

Spotted by Éric Neveux shortly after attending the Film Music Composition Masterclass led by Jérôme Lemonnier in 2017, Clovis Schneider quickly made a name for himself in the world of composition. He co-wrote the scores for Moissons sanglantes and Cœurs noirs before composing the music for Dans la cuisine des Nguyen. This intimate tale, carried by a soundtrack blending soaring orchestral movements with delicate compositions, follows a young actress dreaming of a career in musical theater. A cinematic delight, praised for its authenticity.

Antoine Glatard

presents La Fille sur l'étagère

Artplexe · Friday, March 28th · 8:30 pm

Composer and conductor Antoine Glatard first met director Philippe Safir at MCM, during the European Market for Film Music Composition. This encounter led to the creation of the original score for La Fille sur l’étagère, where the music enhances the unusual closeness between Paul and Meilin. Though they live under the same roof without ever meeting, the two protagonists forge a tenuous connection, beautifully echoed in Glatard’s delicate orchestral flourishes, which translate the poetry of this singular story.
