Née en 1991, la réalisatrice et scénariste Marija Kavtaradze est diplômée de l’Académie lituanienne de musique, de théâtre et de réalisation cinématographique en 2014. Le premier long métrage de Marija, Summer Survivors, a fait sa première au Festival International du Film de Toronto en 2018 et a fait une solide carrière dans les festivals. Il a également été vendu à l’Italie, à l’Albanie, à la Lettonie... Avec 26 000 entrées au box-office national, il s’agit du film indépendant lituanien le plus apprécié en 2019. Considérée comme l’une des cinéastes les plus talentueuses de Lituanie, Marija Kavtaradze se prépare maintenant à la sortie de son deuxième long métrage Slow, qui a reçu le prix Productor’s Network à When East Meets West et faisait partie du marché de co-production de la Berlinale.
Born in 1991, film director and scriptwriter Marija Kavtaradze graduated from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Film Directing studies in 2014. Marija’s debut feature film Summer Survivors premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in 2018 and did a solid career at the festivals, also sold to Italy, Albania, Latvia, etc. Summer Survivors achieved 26k admissions at the domestic box office, which made it the most appreciated independent Lithuanian film in 2019. Her debut film received three Lithuanian Film Academy awards. Considered to be one of the most talented upcoming filmmakers in Lithuania, Marija Kavtaradze is now preparing for the release of her second feature film Slow, which got Producer’s Network prize at When East Meets West and was a part of Berlinale Co-Production Market.
Irya et Martin forment un duo de compositeurs primé basé en Suède. Leur créativité et leur son distinctif leur ont valu l’opportunité de travailler avec des réalisateurs renommés, composant des musiques de films et de séries télévisées primées. Ils sont surtout connus pour leurs musiques pour la série télévisée Thin Blue Line et les films Comedy Queen et Slow. En parallèle avec leur travail sur les films, ils sont tous deux auteurs-compositeurs et ont sorti des albums solos et collaboré avec de nombreux artistes reconnus. Leur dernière œuvre est la bande originale du film Slow, qui a été présenté à Sundance et a remporté le prix du Meilleur réalisateur dans la catégorie World Cinema Dramatic 2023. Ils travaillent actuellement sur la saison 3 de Thin Blue Line et sur une série télévisée suédoise appelée Pressure Point, qui sera diffusée en 2024.
Irya and Martin are an award-winning composer duo based in Sweden. Their creativity and distinctive sound have earned them the opportunity to work with acclaimed directors, composing scores for award-winning films and Tv series. They are best known for their scores for the TV series Thin Blue Line and the film Comedy Queen and Slow. The writing process is much about intuition and they try to keep a playfulness in the process all the way through to the finished score. Irya is also a music producer and has a choir singer background and Martin is a trained arranger/orchestrator so they use this to combine their stream of consciousness method with musical structure and more classical voicing. In parallel with their film work, they are both songwriters and have released solo albums and collaborated with many known artists. Their latest work is scoring for the film Slow that premiered at Sundance and won in the category World Cinema Dramatic 2023 – Director Award. They were also selected for a Sundance Composer Spotlight. They are currently working on Thin Blue Line season 3 and a Swedish TV series called Pressure Point that will premiere 2024.
