A farmer who lives a quiet life in the countryside is forced by the state to sell his home. He leaves everything behind, relocates to the capital, and soon meets a 10-year-old paper delivery boy. Their friendship proves to be transformative for them both.

Originaire d’Islande, Ninna Pálmadóttir est une cinéaste déjà̀ auréolée de nombreux prix. Elle est titulaire d’un master en réalisation et écriture de scenario de la Tisch School of Arts de l’Université́ de New York et d’une licence en études cinématographiques et littéraires de l’Université́ d’Islande. Elle a grandi dans une petite ville au nord de l’île, au milieu d’une nature aussi belle que sauvage qui a façonné́ son style et sa personnalité́ artistique. Son court métrage Paperboy a été projeté dans divers festivals, en première mondiale au Festival international du film de Seattle, où il a remporté le Prix du public. Il a aussi remporté le prix du Meilleur court métrage islandais au Festival international du film de Reykjavik, le prix Edda du court métrage de l’année par l’Académie islandaise du film. Il a été sélectionné dans le programme de courts métrages internationaux Les Nuits en Or de l’Académie des César et au Short cuts : Share Her Journey Shorts du Festival international de Toronto. Elle réalise son premier long métrage Le Vieil homme et l’enfant en 2022.
Born in Iceland, Ninna Pálmadóttir is an award-winning filmmaker. She has a master’s degree in directing and screenwriting from the Tisch School of Arts at New York University, which she graduated from in 2019, and a bachelor’s degree in film and literary studies from the University of Iceland. She grew up in a small town in the north of the island, surrounded by beautiful and wild nature that shaped her artistic style and personality. Her short film Paperboy has screened at various festivals, having its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, where it won an audience award. It also won the Best Icelandic Short Film Award at the Reykjavik International Film Festival, the Edda Short Film Award of the Year by the Icelandic Film Academy. It was selected for the Académie des César’s Les Nuits en Or international short film program and the Short cuts: Share Her Journey Shorts at the Toronto International Film Festival. She directed her first feature film Le vieil homme et l’enfant in 2022.
Pétur Þór Benediktsson est un chanteur et guitariste islandais qui interprète régulièrement ses propres compositions. Il travaille assidûment sur son premier album solo, dont la sortie est prévue pour janvier prochain. Il a été l’un des temps forts du dernier festival Iceland Airwaves, et il se produira dans divers festivals à l’étranger cette année. Récemment, il a achevé l’arrangement de la partition de Nick Cave pour la production de Woyzeck, qui a fait ses débuts au Barbican Center de Londres en 2024. Il a également arrangé de la musique pour Mugison, Slowblow et d’autres artistes islandais. Il a composé les partitions musicales de deux productions au Théâtre de la Ville de Reykjavík l’année dernière : A Dream Play de Strindberg et Les œufs fatals de Bulgakov, ce dernier étant une collaboration avec Höskuldur Ólafsson. Pétur travaille actuellement sur son deuxième projet avec le Vesturport Theatre ainsi que sur la musique du film Kvikyndi.
Pétur Þór Benediktsson is a singer and guitar player from Iceland who regularly perfoms his own material. He is working diligently on his first solo album which is due for release this coming January. He was one of the highlights at the last Iceland Airwaves festival, and he will be playing various festivals in other countries this year. Recently, he completed the arrangement of Nick Cave's score for the production of Woyzeck, which debuted at the Barbican Center in London in 2024. He has also arranged music for and performed with Mugison, Slowblow and other Icelandic artists. He composed the musical scores for two productions at the Reykjavík City Theatre this past year; Strindberg's A Dream Play and Bulgakov's Fatal Eggs, the latter of which was a collaborative effort with Höskuldur Ólafsson. Pétur is currently working on his second project with Vesturport Theatre as well as the score to the movie Kvikyndi.
