Mais un incident mortel change tout. Hazal est obligée de fuir. ELBOW raconte l'histoire d'une jeune fille poussée aux marges de la société mais déterminée à rester fidèle à elle-même.
Hazal is 17 and lives in Berlin. Her biggest wish: to be given a chance. For her 18th birthday she wants to escape the everyday grind and party with her friends. But a fatal incident changes everything, and Hazal is forced to flee. "ELBOW" tells the story of a young woman who is pushed to the margins of society and is determined to remain true to herself.

Née en 1986 à Berlin, Asli Özarslan étudie le théâtre à l’université de Beyrouth, la philosophie et la sociologie à la Sorbonne Paris ainsi que le documentaire à la Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. En 2014, elle reçoit le prix Deutschlandstipdendium, en 2015 une bourse prestigieuse de l’Akademie der Künste et une autre en 2017 à l’Académie culturelle Tarabya d’Istanbul. En 2023 elle est invitée par Netflix pour un atelier de réalisateurs à Prague. Insel 36 (2014) et son film de fin d’études Dil Leyla (2016) sont ses premiers documentaires, primés à l’international. Son premier film de fiction Elbow (2024), présenté au MCM en compétition long métrage, a fait sa première mondiale à la Berlinale plus tôt cette année.
Born in Berlin in 1986, Asli Özarslan studied Theater at Beirut University, Philosophy and Sociology at Paris’ Sorbonne and Documentary at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. In 2014, she received the Deutschlandstipdendium Prize, a renowned scholarship from the Akademie der Künste in 2015 and another in 2017 at the Tarabya Cultural Academy in Istabul. In 2023, she was invited by Netflix for a Talent Workshop in Prague. Insel 36 (2014), and her student film Dil Leyla (2016) are her first documentary films and both won international prices. Her first fiction feature film Elbow (2024) premiered at the 74th Berlinale.

Pianiste de formation classique, Delphine Mantoulet développe son goût pour l’électro lors de son séjour à Londres dans un label underground. Elle travaille ensuite chez Warner Music, et c’est lors de sa rencontre avec Tony Gatlif qu’elle débute sa carrière de compositrice. Elle enchaîne les compositions des films de Tony Gatlif : Transylvania, Liberté, Indignados, Geronimo et est nommée deux fois aux César. À partir de 2008 Delphine produit les films de Tony Gatlif. Entre 2017 et 2019, elle compose la musique du spectacle Lala Bidoum, signe la bande originale du documentaire Des Iles et des joueurs et travaille sur la musique d’une série de Rita Elquessar. En 2020, elle enregistre avec Nicolas Reyes, Karoline Rose Sun et Manero, la musique de Tom Medina de Tony Gatlif. Elle est nommée Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres en 2021. Après avoir travaillé sur la musique d’Elbow d’Asli Özarslan, elle compose actuellement la musique de Grandpa is Sleeping de Matei Branea et du film de Tony Gatlif Ange et Soléa.
Classical pianist, Delphine Mantoulet developed her taste for electronic music during her stay in London at an underground label. She then worked for Warner Music and met director Tony Gatlif, which is when she began her career as a composer. She went on to compose for Tony Gatlif's films Transylvania, Liberté, Indignados, Geronimo and was nominated twice for the César. In 2008, Delphine started producing Tony Gatlif’s movies. Between 2017 and 2019, she composed the music for the show Lala Bidoum, signed the soundtrack of the documentary Des Iles et des joueurs and worked on the music for a series of Rita Elquessar. In 2020, Delphine records with Nicolas Reyes, Karoline Rose Sun and Manero, the music of Tom Medina by Tony Gatlif. She was named Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2021.
